Visit of representatives of the University of Lorraine at the Silesian University of Technology
The university authorities, representatives of academic staff and scientists from the French university visited Gliwice. The Lorraine University is one of the partners of the Silesian University of Technology in the EURECA PRO consortium. The visit is aimed at getting to know each other and strengthening cooperation.
The University of Lorraine has joined EURECA PRO as its ninth partner. The university was established in 2012 as a result of the merger of four universities: Henri Poincaré University, Nancy 2 University, Paul Verlaine University – Metz and the National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine. The origins of the University of Lorraine date back to the 16th century, currently the university educates more than 60 thousand students in more than 40 units. Education covers virtually all areas of science, from exact sciences to social, humanities, medical, legal and art related.
“The visit of representatives of the University of Lorraine to the Silesian University of Technology is a great opportunity to present our infrastructure, potential and scientific activity, thanks to which we will be able to establish closer cooperation and initiate joint activities” – said Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marek Pawełczyk, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology while welcoming the guests..
Representatives of the University of Lorraine will also get acquainted with the activities of the Centre for Incubation and Technology Transfer, the functioning of eCZP systems and e-services, as well as databases such as Omega or ORCID. The visit of representatives of the Silesian University of Technology in France is planned for the next year.
