The Silesian University of Technology in cooperation with the Silesian Governor, the City of Gliwice, Silesian Branch of the National Health Fund (NFZ) and Municipal Hospital No 4 in Gliwice launched a COVID-19 vaccination centre located at the "Tafla" ice rink hall.
On 29 March a COVID-19 vaccination centre was opened at the "Tafla" Ice Rink at the SUT Sports Centre. This is yet another of the activities undertaken in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. A large area of the hall at 29 Akademicka Street will be used to accommodate a larger number of people qualified for vaccination.
Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk PhD, DSc

In the ice rink hall, there are dedicated stands as well as places for people completing documents, waiting for the vaccine to be administered, and also for those who have received it and remain under the temporary control of medical staff. The arrangement of individual stands in the hall allows for social distance, at the same time protecting those receiving the vaccine from the risk of infection with the SARS-CoV-2. The parking next to the "Tafla" Ice Rink has been made available to individuals coming by car.
In this new vaccination centre, it will be possible to vaccinate up to 3,000 people a day.
Przemysław Gliklich, President of the Municipal Hospital No 4 in Gliwice
