TV training – techniques of working with a camera for lecturers
On the 29th and 30th of May this year the Centre for Modern Education organized a unique training, which was carried out by the producers, editors, producers, and TV presenters. The two-day workshop introduced participants to the world of techniques for working with a television camera – from recording material to its editing.
The training has enriched the skills of recording and editing videos with teaching material. The workshops took place in a modern, professionally equipped TVS studio in Katowice. The training was conducted by Nina Nocoń – TV presenter, journalist, announcer, Marcin Kramarczyk – video producer and editor, sound engineer, screenwriter and director, and Anna Kuś – production manager, producer with academic education in the profession and many years of practice (since 2006, TVP, TVN, TVS) and lecturer at the Silesian Academy.
During the workshops, academic lecturers had the opportunity to get acquainted with television practice and try their hand at recording materials in the studio, conducting interviews, preparing a public speech. They learned the secrets of production, editing of previously recorded material, as well as the basic principles and tools for editing audiovisual materials. They perfected their analysis of recorded materials in terms of editing. The workshop part was also carried out in the field, and the participants improved the ability to record and edit “hundreds” (short statements for TV programs), learned the basic rules and changing conditions of giving live speeches. The workshop also covered the practical scope of recording and post-production of completed statements, and then discussing them, analysing them, and drawing conclusions from the recorded materials.
The participants with great satisfaction and commitment explored the secrets of television work, certainly enriching the skills necessary in everyday work. The second edition of the training took place on the 5th and 6th of June this year.
