Training “Didactics supported by artificial intelligence and digital tools”
On Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, a workshop entitled “Didactics supported by artificial intelligence and digital tools” was held, conducted by Dr Eng. Paweł Lasek, CSC coordinator and assistant professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The event has been scheduled as part of the Summer School for PhD students of the Silesian University of Technology.
During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to learn about modern techniques supporting didactic and scientific work, with particular emphasis on the role of artificial intelligence. The program included issues related to:
- Effective writing of publications using LaTeX,
- Search for scientific literature using databases and tools supporting access to Open Access publications,
- AI tools to search for publications, identify and obtain key results from publications and reports,
- Tools for language correction, including solutions dedicated to the academic language,
- Practical application of Large Language Models (LLM) in didactics and research,
- Cybersecurity aspects including the use of password managers and data backup.
The training was interactive – the participants worked on their own computers, testing the presented tools in practice. The workshop was also an opportunity to exchange experiences and inspirations between PhD students from various units of the Silesian University of Technology.
The training is carried out as part of the project “Silesian University of Technology as a university supporting staff on the way to excellence” implemented within the framework of Measure 01.05 Skills in Higher Education in Priority 1 of the European Funds for Social Development Program 2021-2027, based on the agreement no. FERS.01.05-IP.08-0159/23-00 under the supervision of the National Centre for Research and Development as an Intermediate Body.
