There has never been such a defence before. Triplets defended their engineering degrees

There has never been such a defence at the Silesian University of Technology! Three sisters - triplets - defended their engineering degrees in one day! Natalia, Dorota and Judyta Chowaniec studied at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology.

The sisters graduated with a degree in Mining and Geology, specialising in Engineering Geology and Geotechnics. They all graduated with top grades. The girls chose these studies because, as they say, the university has a very good reputation. "Besides, we've always been interested in geography, geology and environment and our dad and granddad were miners so we're continuing the family tradition" say the sisters.

As Natalia, Dorota and Judyta are very similar, it was difficult for their classmates to distinguish them. "When we started our studies everyone was a little shocked, everyone was very surprised" says Judyta. "But as time went by the classmates started to distinguish us and there were no problems" adds Dorota. 

"The lecturers also joked that they were not sure whether Dorota or Judyta would take the exam. But there was no chance to switch, because we took our exams at the same time" says Natalia.

"At the University we met many wonderful people and made friends that we will keep in touch with" the sisters add. Throughout their studies the girls lived in the Silesian University of Technology dormitory.  "We recall that time very nice, we have a lot of great memories and if we continue our studies here we want to live in the dormitory" says Dorota.

Natalia, Dorota and Judyta Chowaniec want to continue their studies at the Silesian University of Technology, majoring in geoengineering and raw material exploration. In the future they plan to work in their profession, in a geological engineering company.
