The third edition of the Women’s Energy in Transition – Polish Edition has started
Until December 15th , the recruitment for the Energy in the Hands of Women program is underway – the third edition of the Women’s Energy in Transition – Polish Edition program, organized by Dalkia Polska in cooperation with the best technical universities: Silesian, Warsaw, Poznan, Krakow, Wroclaw Universities of Technology and AGH University of Science and Technology. The program aims to distinguish the best diploma theses on energy transformation, defended by students and graduates of Polish universities.
The program is addressed to women who in their diploma theses take up topics related to energy. Its aim is to support young talents and enable them to start their careers in the energy industry. This year’s edition continues its mission to promote women in a sector that will undergo a massive transformation in the coming years.
“We want to find the best candidates for the energy sector and inspire more women to work in this industry, whose development is essential in the context of the global energy transition,” said Jacek Chodkowski, CEO of Dalkia Group in Poland.
Data from the International Energy Agency (IEA), the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the World Economic Forum show that women are still a minority in the energy industry – only 22% of employees and only 14% in managerial roles. The program aims to bridge this gap by encouraging women to engage in the renewable energy sector, which is expected to create millions of new jobs by 2030.
Applications will be accepted until 15th of December 2024. The program is open to students and graduates of energy-related fields, whose diploma theses have been defended in the period from January 2023 to October 2024. The jury, which will include representatives of partner universities and employees of the Dalkia Group, will select the finalists of the third edition in February 2025. The winners will be announced at a gala scheduled for March 2025
The honorary patronage over the event was taken by the Ambassador of France, Etienne de Poncins, and the Minister of Industry, Marzena Czarnecka.
