The Silesian University of Technology student World Games champion in powerlifting
Agata Sitko – the Silesian University of Technology student - once again defeated her opponents in powerlifting and won the non-Olympic sports World Games in the US city of Birmingham. With a score of 726 kg, she once more broke the world record.
Agata, who every day is a student at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and an athlete at UKS Pover Kuźnik Chorzow, trains powerlifting, which consists of 3 fights. These include barbell squats, bench press and deadlift. The winner is the person who has the highest "total", i.e. the combination of the best score from each individual exercise.
At the World Games of non-Olympic sports, Agata Sitko won the heavyweight category (that's the combined u69 kg and u76 kg categories). „My world records are: in the bench press - 195 kg, in the deadlift - 261 kg, in the total - 726 kg," - boasted the record holder.
Two or three more international competitions await her this year. – “It's time for me to continue working and face more challenges,”- she said.
We congratulate Agata and wish her further success!
