The Silesian University of Technology concluded a cooperation agreement with the Surveyor General of Poland
The signing of the agreement is expected to result in cooperation in the scientific field, joint participation in research and development projects, as well as support from the Surveyor General of Poland for the teaching process in the field of Geodesy and Cartography, conducted at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation.
This agreement gives students of Geodesy and Cartography the opportunity to complete their diploma theses combined with an internship at the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography.
The attractiveness of education at the Silesian University of Technology will also increase, especially at the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation, through the introduction of the "Integrated Professional Competences, Ethics and Scientific Development" education model, which takes into account the participation of the Surveyor General of Poland.
Surveyor General of Poland is the central government administration body, carrying out supervisory and control tasks towards the bodies of the Geodetic and Cartographic Service. Its statutory task is to actively promote scientific development, including searching for modern solutions to improve the performance of tasks by subordinate bodies and supporting their implementation.
Surveyor General of Poland’s activities include legal and practical issues relating to both the bodies of the Geodetic and Cartographic Service as well as geodetic contracting units.
The cooperation agreement was signed by the Surveyor General of Poland - Ms. Alicja Kulka, the Silesian University of Technology was represented by prof. dr Eng. Wojciech Szkliniarz, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education. The person authorized to contact regarding this agreement is dr hab. Eng. Violetta Sokoła-Szewioła, prof. of Silesian University of Technology.
