The Silesian University of Technology and the Critical Applications company started mutual cooperation
On July the 2nd , 2025, an agreement was signed between the Silesian University of Technology and the Critical Applications company. It was signed by Vice Rector for Collaboration with Civic and Economic Environment Dr Hab. Eng. Marcin Staniek, Prof. SUT and the President of the Management Board of the Critical Applications Company, Mr. Sebastian Lasek.
Critical Applications is a special purpose company of the State Treasury, performing tasks involving computerization of government administration departments.
- We are a company created to build applications for the benefit of the Ministry of Finance – says Sebastian Lasek, President of the Board of the Company. We are very pleased with the agreement signed with the Silesian University of Technology. I hope that thanks to this we will gain access to a wide range of students of the Silesian University of Technology, and at the same time scientific staff, and we will be able to solve very interesting projects related to the construction of applications and modern solutions for the Ministry of Finance.
Critical Applications Company creates such projects as e-TOLL, e-Tax Office or e-PIT. These are solutions that support the digital transformation of the country.
- These are huge challenges, both in programming and data analysis, as well as in the use of artificial intelligence, which is why I believe that the potential of our cooperation is huge - adds Sebastian Lasek, President of the Management Board.
Of course, the agreement brings a number of benefits for both parties. The cooperation will cover the didactic and research area.
- Our partner creates important applications that are widely used by society as well as entrepreneurs - says Vice-Rector Marcin Staniek. – Now our students will be able to participate in internships and work placements. Specialists from this company will also conduct trainings and workshops at the Silesian University of Technology for students and scientists. At the same time, we are interested in research cooperation in the implementation of joint projects related to broadly understood digitization and the application of artificial intelligence to processing large data sets.
The Critical Applications Company will also take over the patronage of courses of study related to computer science and project management, supporting curricula and educational initiatives.
