Silesian University of Technology announces a competition for pupils of secondary schools as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024.

Science Competition for secondary school pupils as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 (EMN) is about to start. It concerns design solutions for the region in various areas of social and economic life, which will fit into at least one leading EMN path, i.e.:
- climate and environment,
- health and quality of life,
- industries of the future,
- social innovation,
- industrial and cultural heritage,
- creation and criticism.

The competition aims to support secondary school pupils, with particular emphasis on pupils associated in science clubs. This initiative is part of EMN’s commitment to developing young talent and promoting innovation among pupils.

The competition consists of two stages. In the first one, the school director submits to the competition at most 3 best project proposals from one school, in accordance with the template (Annex No. 1 to the Regulations). A team of up to 3 people may participate in the project under the guidance of a teacher from the applicant school, responsible for the proper implementation of the project. In the second stage of the competition, projects selected by the competition committee will go to the final, during which each team will present their idea. The selection board will select and award winners in each EMN lead track. On the day of the final, which will take place at the Silesian University of Technology, creativity workshops will also be held for the winners of the competition.
Applications are submitted by school directors to the College of Studies of the Silesian University of Technology in paper form (in person or by post to the following address: College of Studies, ul Akademicka 2A, p. 287, 44-100 Gliwice) and electronically to the e-mail address: ks@polsl.pl

Applications must be submitted by the deadline of 15 November 2024
