The Repower World Summit will take place on March 4th and 5th, 2025 at the Silesian Museum in Katowice. The event will bring together representatives of the government, local governments, representatives of the largest energy companies and heating companies, representatives of industry, including developers and suppliers of energy technologies, as well as representatives of domestic and foreign scientific and research institutions.

The organizer of the event is Silesian University of Technology, and it is taken care of directly by the Desire Energy Transformation Platform. The strategic partner, who also exercises substantive care, is the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis.

The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Industry Marzena Czarnecka, the Silesian Voivode Marek Wójcik and the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Marek Pawełczyk.

Eight panels will be organized during the event, during which discussions will be held on technical, economic, legal, and social aspects related to the decarbonization processes of centralized electricity and heat generation systems. Opportunities and basic barriers identified for transformation pathways, such as Coal-to-Nuclear, Coal-to-RES, will be discussed. Conference participants will have the opportunity to listen to two lectures prepared by invited foreign authorities - popularizers of decarbonization transition paths, dedicated to coal generation sources. The event will be attended by foreign guests representing renowned scientific and research centres such as Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST), Tsinghua University, Xiamen University, or the Teknologi Bandung Institute. These centres cooperate with the Silesian University of Technology as part of the international Repower initiative.
