The Rector of the Silesian University of Technology said goodbye to the graduates of the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School
The Academic Secondary Comprehensive Schools of the Silesian University of Technology in Rybnik and Gliwice said goodbye to the pupils who finished their education in these schools. The Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk i Vice-Rector for General Affairs – Prof. Bogusław Łazarz took part yesterday in the solemn award of certificates to this year's secondary school graduates.
Fifty students left the walls of the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School in Gliwice yesterday.
I wish them good luck on the exams, but also good choice of future course of education. Of course, we invite them to continue their education within the walls of the Silesian University of Technology – said the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, prof Arkadiusz Mężyk and emphasized that the university offers many opportunities for young people to develop. At this point, one can mention, for example, mentoring and internship programs, as well as the opportunity to apply for scholarships. Scientific interests will soon be developed in the Student Creativity Centre, which has recently been established on the Gliwice campus.
- A large group of our students chooses polytechnical courses after graduation. Our graduates are present in many faculties. This year they are again interested in studying, among others, architecture, and technical fields. Some people take their secondary school leaving diploma in computer science, which will become a pass for them to the Silesian University of Technology – said Dr Małgorzata Borysławska, director of the Gliwice Academic Secondary Comprehensive School.
The graduates themselves praised the level of teaching at this school.
- English language and programming and computer science were certainly conducted at a high level. I am convinced that the tasks during secondary school leaving exam will not be difficult for me. After studying in Academic Secondary Comprehensive School, the tasks seem simple to me – added Dorian Koehler, this year’s secondary school graduate from ALO (Academic Secondary Comprehensive School, who intends to study cybersecurity at the Silesian University of Technology.
