The Polsl Racing Science Club will take part in the Formula Student class competition
Thanks to the funding obtained from the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis under the "Metropolitan Fund for Science Support" Program in 2022-2024, members of the Polsl Racing Science Club will take part in the round of the international Formula Student competition organized in Poland.
Formula Student is an annual series of international competitions, the aim of which is to present and test racing cars developed and built by students of the best universities using innovative solutions and materials. The cars are subject to substantive assessment by recognized world experts and industry specialists. The competition itself is divided into static competitions, during which, among others, applied engineering solutions are evaluated and dynamic competitions - then the cars are tested in track conditions.
Thanks to the funding granted by the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis (GZM) obtained through a competition under the "Metropolitan Fund for Science Support in the years 2022-2024", members of the Polsl Racing Science Club will take part in the round of the international Formula Student class competition organized for the first time in Poland, supported by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), while promoting the research and development potential of students of technology faculties from the Metropolis GZM area.
During the competition, students of the Polsl Racing Science Club will present the capabilities of the modernized SW-04e car using the results of its members' research projects implemented in the form of project-based learning (PBL), including concerning the development of proprietary systems focused around the aspects of the effective use and consumption of electricity in means of road transport.
The project "Competition of the Student Science Club PolSl Racing of the Silesian University of Technology in the national round of the Formula Student class competition" was co-financed by the Metropolis of Upper Silesia and Zagłębie under the "Metropolitan Fund for Science Support in 2022-2024" Program.
