The Polish Mining Congress was held in Katowice
It is the most important forum for representatives of science and the mining industry. The 5th Polish Mining Congress was held in International Congress Centre in Katowice. The event was coordinated by the Silesian University of Technology.
The Polish Mining Congress is a cyclical event organized by three universities, which in their research fields deal with broadly understood mining and the extractive industry. The event is organized alternately by the Silesian University of Technology, the AGH University of Science and Technology and the Wrocław University of Technology. This year the meeting was coordinated by our University.
- “During the debates, all energy, mining and social topics will be discussed” - announced prof. dr hab. Eng. Franciszek Plewa, Dean of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation.
The Congress was held as part of the International Fair EXPO KATOWICE - the Fair of Mining, Power Industry and Metallurgy. As dr hab. Eng. Marcin Lutyński, prof. of Silesian University of Technology said, the organizers of the Congress decided to cooperate with the fair in order to reach a wider audience.
- “We thought that the organization of the Congress together with such a large event would be beneficial for us and would allow the Congress to have a greater impact on this environment, which could potentially be interested in this subject “- added the scientist.
