The opening of the multimedia room for design classes
A modern multimedia room was opened at the Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology. It is intended for design classes, consultations and seminars.
The refurbishment of multimedia room 101 was carried out on the initiative of the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Professor Klaudiusz Fross PhD, DSc, Arch.- This is a multimedia room, designed for modern, innovative teaching methods. There are 4 conceptually named zones: "discussion club", "inspiration lawn", "waiting room" and "task and knowledge". These zones can be easily changed or enlarged, as we have special mobile partition walls in the room. The multimedia boards are on wheels, so they can also be moved. We have a very good Internet connection, you can sketch, draw, save and send data on the spot, as well as display projects and have teleconferences - says the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Professor Klaudiusz Fross, PhD, DSc, Arch.
The zone called "discussion club" will host presentations, mini-lectures, discussions. The "inspiration lawn" zone is for project presentations and consultations, the "waiting room" is for individual work, while the "task and knowledge" zone is for group work, Internet searches and drawing. There are 8 lighting scenes (including decorative backlights), colourful sofas and armchairs for comfortable use. Two multimedia screens allow for the presentation of a project, lecture, Internet connection, search for data and useful materials for current classes, drawing, sketching, design corrections, saving and sending data.
The Weninger Company sponsored the construction work, the replacement of installations and the finishing touches. The Faculty equipped the room with two multimedia whiteboards. This is the first such extensive renovation at the Faculty financed by an external partner. – The cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology is a great honour for us and we are grateful to the university for the trust. We believe that this cooperation will translate into the development of innovative products in our company. We will participate in seminars, meetings with scientists as well as with students from the Faculty of Architecture - says Maciej Sporek, vice-president of Weninger management board.
The President of the Silesian Chamber of Construction, Mariusz Czyszek, was present at the opening of the Multimedia Room 101. - I would like to congratulate you on this innovative room which has huge potential. As you can see, not only classes with students or PhD students but also lectures for people from outside can be held here with the use of modern technologies - said Mariusz Czyszek, President of the Silesian Construction Chamber.
