The novelties attracted candidates
This year's recruitment shows that candidates are increasingly closely following technological changes and are choosing fields that meet the needs of the economy of the future. The biggest sensation of the first round of recruitment turned out to be two new offers from the Silesian University of Technology: Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence.
Those fields were at the top of the ranking in terms of the number of candidates per place. In the Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence field, an average of 7 candidates apply for one place, while in the Artificial Intelligence field, 6.7 candidates apply for one place. These are the best results in the entire educational offer of the university.
Such great interest in the newly launched studies confirms that young people see enormous potential for professional development in areas related to data analysis, machine learning, and the use of artificial intelligence in business and industry. The dynamic development of AI technology means that specialists with competences in this field are among the most sought after on the job market today.
The high popularity of new courses also shows that the Silesian University of Technology effectively responds to global technological trends and candidate expectations. The first round of recruitment has already confirmed that studies related to artificial intelligence have become one of the strongest points of this year's university offer.
Just a few years ago, traditional technical courses were the most popular. Today, specialties related to data processing, machine learning and intelligent systems are coming to the fore. This is not a coincidence. According to experts, the labour market is increasingly looking for specialists who can design and implement solutions based on artificial intelligence, and digital competences are becoming among the most desired skills by employers.
The Silesian University of Technology noticed this trend earlier, launching new programs focused on AI and data analysis. The first recruitment results show that it was the right decision. The new study programs quickly became among the most popular university study offers. Statistics from the first round of recruitment show that fields of study related to the industry of the future are still very popular. The high position of Aviation Engineering, Automation and Robotics, Mechatronics and Computer Science shows that young people want to participate in the creation of modern technologies, autonomous systems and solutions used in Industry 4.0. Interestingly, the success of space related courses is in line with the growing interest in the aerospace sector in Poland and Europe. Candidates are increasingly recognizing that technologies developed for the aviation and space sector also find applications in everyday life, from telecommunications to satellite navigation.
The results of the recruitment round will be published on July 17th. Candidates qualified for studies may submit documents until July 22nd, at 5:00 p.m. To make it easier for all interested parties to complete the formalities, the university has also launched an additional recruitment office on Saturday, July 18th.
Although the final results of the recruitment process will be known after all stages of recruitment have been completed, the most important trend of this year's recruitment campaign can already be identified: young people are increasingly choosing fields related to artificial intelligence, data analysis, and modern technologies. Everything indicates that those fields will determine the direction of development of technical education in the coming years.
