The Museum of Deposit Geology of the Silesian University of Technology invites you to the Long Night of Museums

"Magical minerals glowing in the dark..." – Under this slogan, the Museum of Deposit Geology of the Silesian University of Technology invites you to its exhibition halls during the Long Night of Museums. The event will take place on May 18th.

The Museum of Deposit Geology, named after Czesław Poborski, joins the Long Night of Museums. On this occasion, the visitors will be able to admire fluorescent minerals and more. The Museum invites you to its halls at 2, Akademicka Street in Gliwice (second floor), from 18.00 to 21.30.

In Villa Caro you will be able to admire the exhibition "Geology in beliefs and Art", also prepared by the Museum of Deposit Geology. It will include specimens of minerals and rocks that have been believed to have "magical" powers, such as belemnites ("devil's fingers", "lightning stones"), ammonites ("horns of the god of Amon", "snakes"), shark teeth, etc. It will also present very colourful minerals from which dyes used in painting are made (lapis lazuli, ochre, cinnabar, shungit). The exhibition will be open from 17.00 to 21.00.
