“The Metropolis GZM Game” with international distinction!
Students of the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology created a board and card game “The Metropolis GZM,” for which they won the silver award of the international Design Educates Awards 2025 competition.
This is a huge distinction for the team that created the “Metropolis GZM Game.” The SKN Urbanmodel team, composed of: Błażej Mól, Paulina Siudyka, Igor Gdula, Justyna Nowak, Izabela Mularczyk, Magda Sikora, Oskar Rosikoń, Amelia Gałas, Paulina Miszczak, Małgorzata Wasik, Katarzyna Kotarska, Katarzyna Wąsińska, Karolina Dębczak, Magdalena Fijał, Aleksandra Barańska, Michał Zając, Wiedloch, Wiedlocha under the supervision of Dr Hab. Arch. Tomasz Bradecki, Prof. SUT has won over dozens of projects from all over the world.
The game uses cards to play the metropolis. The creators of the game cards are : Batko Dominika, Bobek Kornelia, Gdula Igor, Goleśny Tymoteusz, Haupt Patrycja, Iskra Patrycja, Kiersnowska Oliwia, Kowalski Kamil, Krzempek Martyna, Krzywoń Małgorzata, Mularczyk Izabela, Nowak Justyna, Pisarek Julia, Pluta Małgorzata, Rospondek Olga, Sikora Magdalena, Siudyka Paulina, Słowik Emilia, Szymonek Dominika, Świeca Maja, Więckowska Julia, Włodyka Kinga.
Their interactive educational game - with quizzes, augmented reality and a 3D model enchanted a jury composed of world-class architects, including Pritzker Prize winner, Prof Toyo Ito.
The Design Educates Awards is one of the most important competitions in the world, promoting architecture and design that teach, inspire, and change societies. The team from the Silesian University of Technology will receive their award during the final gala in September.
