The final of the Baltie International Programming Competition 2025
Almost 500 young programmers from Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia took part in the final of the 23rd Baltie International Programming Competition 2025. At the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science of the Silesian University of Technology, on June the 6th, 30 talented primary school pupils from the Silesian, Opole, and Lesser Poland voivodeships joined the finals.
The final of the competition took place simultaneously in institutions in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and a total of 482 young programmers – from first graders from primary schools to secondary school pupils – selected during the school and provincial eliminations, out of over 11 thousand pupils. Pupils struggled for more than two hours with competition tasks.
Baltie is a fully iconic programming language based on C/C#. Preschoolers can already begin making first steps in programming quite early, due to the simple interface that does not require reading skills. Unlike other languages adapted to learning programming for children, Baltie does not focus on the visual layer, but enables the training of algorithmic thinking.
