The Enterprise and Education Forum

The Enterprise and Education Forum will be held on the 12th of May 2026 in the Student Creativity Centre as one of the events accompanying the Education Day of the Silesian University of Technology.

A discussion with experts has been planned under the motto: “Science– Business– Education.” The discussion will take place on May the 12th at the Student Creativity Centre of the Silesian University of Technology. It will be devoted to the exchange of experiences, presentation of good practices and integration of universities, schools, and enterprises in the field of micro credentials and lifelong learning. The forums will provide a platform for dialog between education and the economy and a space for identifying competence needs in key sectors of the region.

The discussion will be led by the spokeswoman of the Silesian University of Technology, Iwona Flanczewska-Rogalska, M.A., and the recognized experts representing the public sector, science and key enterprises will be the panellists.

The following experts will speak  during  the debate: Anna Kwaśniewska (Director of the Education Department of the Marshal’s Office of the Silesian Voivodeship), Olga Nowak (Member of the Management Board of DB Cargo Polska S.A.), Zdzisław Mrówka (Director, Intel), Piotr Wojtas (CNP-EMAG), Edyta Dziedzic-Mania (Małro Projekt), Dr Eng. Andreas Glenz (President of the Management Board of PREVAC) and representatives of TAURON Dystrybucja S.A. – Dorota Piórkowska and Aneta Kołodziej. The academic perspective will be presented by Tomasz Grychowski and the Director of the College of Studies, Beata Orlińska.

It is an event implemented as part of the project of the Silesian Voivodeship entitled: "Building a system of coordination and monitoring of regional activities for vocational training, higher education and lifelong learning, including adult learning", within the framework of the Poland’s Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The event will inaugurate activities to build a system of coordination and monitoring activities for vocational education, higher education, and lifelong learning, including adult learning.

As part of the activities supported by Poland's Recovery and Resilience Plan), Silesian University of Technology introduces a new standard of education in the form of 14 specialized micro-workshops. This initiative goes beyond the theoretical framework, offering practical support in the process of intensive industrial transformation of the region. The workshops are open – they are addressed not only to the academic community, but to all those interested in improving their competences, including employees of Silesian enterprises. The program covers key issues for the modern economy, such as digital transformation, green technologies, energy efficiency, innovation management, and leadership competences.

Classes, held in May and June 2026, will be conducted in a variety of forms: from classic lectures and laboratories to inspiring study visits, with each course covering a total of 15 teaching hours. The micro certificate system, developed in close cooperation with regional business, is a real response to the needs of automation and digitization of the industry, building the economic resilience of the voivodship. As the organizers emphasize, the idea of Lifelong Learning gains in value thanks to such adjustment to the requirements of employers.

 The online recruitment process starts in May, and detailed syllabus will be published successively on the university’s websites, opening the opportunity for participants to gain market skills confirmed by the Silesian University of Technology certificate.
