The Engineering Fair of Labor and Entrepreneurship is behind us
Almost 130 exhibitors – employers, training institutions and those supporting entrepreneurship, as well as career offices and student organizations – behind us is the 31st edition of the Engineering Job and Entrepreneurship Fair at the Silesian University of Technology.
- “This is an important event prepared by students and for students because the organizer of these fairs is the Student Self- Government. It is also a great opportunity for companies to find excellent candidates for employees. It is also an opportunity to promote not only our University in the socio-economic environment, but also individual careers of students, PhD students, employees, and graduates of the Silesian University of Technology.” – said the Rector of the University Prof. Marek Pawełczyk.
Companies from the technology, digital transformation, sustainable development, and green economy sectors were presented at the fair.

- “The Silesian University of Technology has been a strong point on the map of Polish science for 80 years, as well as a centre educating engineers for the needs of industry in our region, in Poland and around the world. This is very pleasing, because among the top-class managers of various companies or companies listed on the stock exchanges are graduates of the Silesian University of Technology” – emphasized the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Prof. Marek Gzik.
“There is still a high demand on the labour market for well-educated engineers of various specializations. The economic and energy transition is a further impetus for making education flexible, responsive and at a high level. This is what the Silesian University of Technology guarantees” – said prof Gzik.
As the president of Gliwice Katarzyna Kuczyńska-Budka emphasized, modern technologies and education of engineers in that area is of great importance in the development of the city.
- “That is why the city is focusing on cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology also in the field of such events as the Labour and Entrepreneurship Fair, because it is a place that combines a fantastic University, good business, modern industry and students, which we care about very much” - said the president of Gliwice.

The organizers of the fair are the University Careers Office and Student Self-Government. The event integrates the academic environment around the issues of work and competence, shows readiness to develop, generate good change and create innovation.
- “The fair is addressed not only to students, PhD students or employees of the Silesian University of Technology, but also to secondary school pupils, because each of us, regardless of what level of education we are at, faces the choice of our professional path. Here you can see what the opportunities on the labour market are, what kind of employees a company is looking for.” - said Błażej Brudny, Vice-President of the Student Self-Government of the Silesian University of Technology.
Apart from employers, also labour market institutions, i.e. labour offices, youth employment offices, career offices, technology centres, entrepreneurship centres and student organizations, scientific clubs and institutions supporting academic entrepreneurship and people with disabilities, were present at the fair.
The fair took place in the “Nowa” Hall of the Silesian University of Technology Sports Centre in Gliwice at 28, Kaszubska Street. The honorary patronage over the event was taken by the president of Gliwice Katarzyna Kuczyńska-Budka. The Katowice Special Economic Zone was the main partner of the fair.
