The Centre for Modern Education of the Silesian University of Technology implements the project "Girls, It's Time for Tech"
The Centre for Modern Education of the Silesian University of Technology, Perspektywy Education Foundation and Stellantis join forces to open the door to the world of technology to young women from Upper Silesia. The new program aims to inspire female secondary school pupils to explore science, technology, and engineering (STEM), develop their technical competencies, and build confidence in making future educational and professional decisions.
The implementation of the project assumes the following objectives:
- Organization of technical and practical workshops, meetings with experts, individual career counselling and educational visits for female pupils from Upper Silesia at the Silesian University of Technology. Workshops conducted by experienced and committed scientists of our University, as well as individual career counselling sessions will be carried out;
- Support for the young generation in STEM development by Stellantis Philanthropy;
- Inauguration of the program "Girls, It's Time for Tech" by the Perspektywy Educational Foundation.
As part of the program, participants will take part in a series of technical and practical workshops conducted at the Faculties of the Silesian University of Technology. Meetings with experts from the STEM industry will provide them with inspiration and practical knowledge, and individual career counselling will help them choose their career path consciously. The program includes educational visits at the Silesian University of Technology, the opportunity to participate in the nationwide Graduate Salon and the prestigious Women in Tech Summit Perspectives. It also organizes a summer school for female pupils.
The program is aimed at secondary school female pupils who are interested in technology, but often lack the courage, knowledge, or support to follow the STEM path. Thanks to the involvement of the Silesian University of Technology in the project, young women will discover and develop their potential in technical fields.
The program will be implemented in 2025. The recruitment of schools willing to participate in the programme is under way. program.
