The building of Student Creativity Centre - Investment of the Year 2023/24

The Student Creativity Centre won first place in the Adaptation category in the Investment of the Year 2023/24 competition. The competition is organized by the National Chamber of Real Estate Management.

The statuette was received by the main designer of the building, Dr Hab.Eng. Arch Klaudiusz Fross, Prof. SUT during a gala ceremony that took place in the Silesian Planetarium.

- “It is a great distinction and satisfaction for us. I would like to thank the Competition Jury for appreciating this unique and difficult project. The adaptation of former fire brigades’ stables is for me a model revitalization. A modern building was built in a historical housing. The building saved by the Silesian University of Technology and handed over to students deserves this unique distinction. Thanks to the funds from the Research University program, it was possible to finance the investment. Congratulations to the entire design team, architectural and technical project designers, architects, constructors, installation designers, as well as students who took part in the PBL classes. A big thank you should be given to the contractor of construction works, the construction manager and the inspectors supervising the implementation”. - said- Dr Hab. Eng. Arch. The aim of the Investment of the Year competition is to select and reward investments that are characterized by special values in such areas as energy efficiency, urban development, functionality, and usability.
