Silesian University of Technology is implementing the project “Together to the diploma – Silesian University of Technology supports students,” which aims to provide comprehensive support to students and increase the effectiveness of the education process.
The initiative includes activities aimed, among others, at reducing the phenomenon of resignation from studies, better matching the forms of education to the needs of students, and strengthening their preparation for entering the labour market.
The project provides for a number of practical activities, including information meetings on recruitment – aimed at candidates for studies - in order to facilitate their transition through the application process and to dispel the most common doubts. Presentation activities for candidates are also planned, which will allow to better understand the didactic offer and the nature of studies. First-year students have been provided with adaptation support to help them find themselves in the academic world and reduce stress associated with starting their studies. In turn, career coaching and support for individual educational and professional development is to support students in conscious planning of the development path and choosing further activities. The project also includes micro courses and micro credentials, which are to help students flexibly complement their competences and adapt the education path to their own needs and requirements of the labour market.
The total value of the project is PLN 4 998 607.25, including PLN 4 124 850.70 of co-financing. The project is funded by European Funds for Social Development.
