The Blees minibus already at the Silesian University of Technology
Punctually at 8 a.m., the first autonomous Blees minibus appeared on the campus of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. Over the next week, the vehicle will be prepared for passenger tests, which will start on November 20th.
From Monday, November 13th, on the campus of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, you can see the first Polish autonomous minibus with your own eyes.
- Over the next week, Blees representatives will prepare the area and test the vehicle without passengers. At the same time, training will take place for volunteers who will take part in the tests, said dr hab. Eng. Anna Timofiejczuk, prof. SUT, the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
About 40 people volunteered to take part in the minibus tests - students, researchers and administrative staff. Their task will be to supervise the bus route and conduct observations and questionnaire surveys.
- We have prepared questionnaires that aim to collect passengers' opinions and their impressions after driving this vehicle, but we also want to know the emotions that accompany the so-called to a remote operator who supervises the functioning of the vehicle - explained dr Anita Pollak, prof. UŚ from the Institute of Psychology of the University of Silesia.
The vehicle will officially start driving on the Gliwice campus of the Silesian University of Technology on November 20th. The rides will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Akademicka Street. The bus will stop at three stops - at the Rector's Office of the Silesian University of Technology (PoliBlees Rektorat), at the intersection of Akademicka and Bolesława Krzywoustego streets (Intersection of a Thousand Possibilities) and at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science and the Faculty of Architecture (Magi Tower).
