After a fierce fight, the AZS Politechnika Śląski basketball players lost away 62:73 to ISWJ Wisła in the 3rd round of the 2nd league games.

- It was a really good match for us - recalls Patryk Niczke, the team's coach. - We were leading until the third minute of the last quarter. Only then did our rivals take the lead and did not relinquish it until the end of the match. Their victory by eleven points does not reflect the course of the match, which was really even. The decisive factor was the efficiency in the last minutes.

A week earlier, our team lost 66:75 in their own hall to the current leader of the competition, Olimpia Wodzisław.

- These matches showed us that, as a new team, we are not at a disadvantage in the competition - says coach Niczke. - We are learning this league, the pressure and with each match we are gaining invaluable experience. This will definitely pay off in the future and I think that the rematches with these teams will look different and we will fight for victory.

In both matches, Wiktoria Borzęcka scored the most points for AZS Politechnika Śląska. In the match against Olimpia she scored 22 points - the most on the court, and against Wisła - 18 points.

- Wiktoria performed great and proved that she deserves the captain's armband - praises Patryk Niczke.

After three rounds played, our University's basketball players have one win and two losses and are currently in fourth place in the league table.

Now they have an extremely interesting meeting ahead of them. On Saturday, November 4th at 5:30 p.m. they will play in their own hall at 26, Akademicka in Gliwice with the AZS University of Silesia team, which has lost all matches so far.

- Of course, we invite all basketball fans to support our team - says Patryk Niczke. - Our closest rival is a very young team. We faced it twice before the season and won both times. It's definitely going to be a tough match in which we will fight for another victory.
