The Autumn Jobs, Entrepreneurship, Technology and Accessibility Fair is already behind us
Nearly 120 exhibitors, thousands of visitors and hundreds of job offers and internships – the 18th Jobs, Entrepreneurship, Technology and Accessibility Fair took place at the Silesian University of Technology.
As every year, the fair was dedicated to candidates coming from the academic community – students, graduates and researchers of the Silesian University of Technology and other universities, as well as pupils of secondary schools.
“This event is not only Jobs, but also Entrepreneurship, Technology and Accessibility Fair. Each of these elements is extremely important here. We want the Silesian University of Technology to be an open university, enabling education and work also for people with disabilities” – said the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Marek Pawełczyk.
As every year, the Fair is visited by both students and graduates of our University.
- “For us, it is important that the University supports not only its students, but also its graduates in the field of job search. The fair is also an important event for secondary school pupils who can see that the Silesian University of Technology gives them not only the perspective of education, but also a chance for a successful professional career. This may encourage them to study at our University” – added the Rector.

Present at the Fair Minister of Science and Higher Education, Prof. Marek Gzik pointed to the growing demand for well-qualified technical staff.
“It is about our economy transforming in the right direction, the direction of modern technologies, innovative and competitive economy, also on international markets. We know that we will not do this without well-educated youth. The role of Polish universities, including the Silesian University of Technology, in this respect, cannot be overestimated. Universities must respond with their offer to what is happening on the labour market, cooperate with entrepreneurs, assess in the perspective of five or ten years ahead, which directions will be needed, and which may need to be extinguished” – emphasized the Deputy Minister.

The Fair, taking place for the 18th time, is of great importance not only for students, but also for the entire local community and for the city, they are also an incentive for graduates of the Silesian University of Technology to want to stay in Gliwice, live here and work.
- “We care very much that young people not only study at the Silesian University of Technology, but also stay in our city permanently. We try to create good living conditions, so that the residents, apart from work, also have a rich offer of functioning in the city, i.e. access to good public services, cultural and sports offer. All of this is necessary for young people to want to live and work in Gliwice,” stressed the Deputy Mayor of the city, Łukasz Górczyński.

Apart from entrepreneurs, the Fair also featured labour market institutions, professional advisors, student organizations and student research clubs. – Here is an opportunity to talk with representatives of research clubs, maybe choose one of them. I repeat many times that studies are not only science – it is also an additional activity, apart from a permanent program, that is, activities in student research clubs, student organizations. It is not only a chance to gain valuable experience or additional qualifications, but also to participate in projects and meet new people – emphasized Dawid Mordarski, President of the Student Self-Government at the Silesian University of Technology.
An important element of the Fair is accessibility for people with disabilities. The stands were prepared by organizations and associations providing support to people with disabilities and disadvantaged living conditions.
“Accessibility is good for all of us, not only for people with disabilities, but also for the elderly or those who move with small children in buggies. Going to this fair, I also noticed a lot of people with suitcases, so this availability applies to each of us” – said Anna Rutz, Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Science for supporting universities in increasing the availability of education for people with disabilities.

"Accessibility is a requirement of an aging population today, and this issue needs to be widely considered. I am glad that there are exhibitors who deal with technologies supporting people with very different needs. Assistive technologies are primarily designed to ensure self-reliance and independence, whether a person has a disability or not Everyone wants to be a fully independent and full-fledged citizen” – added the Plenipotentiary.
The Jobs, Entrepreneurship, Technology and Accessibility Fair is held at the Silesian University of Technology for the 18th time.
