The authorities of the Silesian University of Technology met with the Student Self-Government
The Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Marek Pawełczyk and Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Prof. Anna Chrobok met with the outgoing Student Self-Government and the Student Self-Government for the term of office 2025-2027. The ceremony took place on October 9th at the Silesian University of Technology Employees’ Club.
The meeting was a great opportunity to talk and to thank and congratulate. The University authorities emphasized the importance of the role of the Student Self-Government at the Silesian University of Technology.
- The Student Self-Government represents students – it takes care of their interests, and that their voice is heard at the Silesian University of Technology. As the University authorities, we try to meet expectations, but often we come to certain solutions together with the Student Self-Government – said Rector Marek Pawełczyk.
- Working in the Student Self-Government certainly gives great satisfaction, but it is also a great sacrifice – you have to take part in many meetings, also outside the University. However, this certainly pays off in your professional career and allows you to acquire the right skills. Therefore, I encourage you to join the Student Self-Government at every possible opportunity, but also to cooperate with it and appreciate its role.

- The people who make up our Self-Government are extremely creative and have fantastic ideas. First of all, they care about the development of the academic community, care about students from all faculties and approach their duties very professionally. This characterizes both the new Self-Government and the one from the previous term. I congratulate them on the fact that the student voice resonates all the time in our activities and in planning the development strategy of the Silesian University of Technology – added Vice-Rector Anna Chrobok.
The meeting was, among others, an opportunity to thank the outgoing Student Self-Government, which consisted of Dawid Mordarski (chairman), Błażej Brudny, Emilia Skwarek, Grzegorz Król, Emilia Lapeta, Michał Szymanowski and Wiktor Kordala.
Time spent in Self-Government is a big part of my study. The presence in it, getting to know people and activities for the University left a positive mark in my life - says the President of the Student Self-Government of the previous term Dawid Mordarski. – The role of Self-Government is very important. We create a student community, and we feel responsible for it.
The Student Self-Government in the 2025-2027 term will consist of: Błażej Brudny (Chairman), Patryk Stępień, Emilia Lapeta, Julia Wybraniec, Michał Szymanowski, Oskar Hajda and Maksymilian Tracz.
- As a deputy chairman in the previous term, I had the opportunity to see that the cooperation with the University authorities was really great and today, as chairman, I can say that we want to maintain and develop it further. Together, we want to constantly improve the quality of education, look for solutions that respond to the needs of students and implement initiatives that really improve the everyday life of studying - says Błażej Brudny.
- The coming months are a time of many challenges for us; in December we will host the Reporting and Electoral Congress of the Technical Universities Forum. In addition, we prepare a series of trainings that will help students develop their competences, and already at the beginning of 2026 we are waiting for the organization of the Student Environment Gala “Zębatki 2026”, during which we will reward students, organizations and scientific clubs for their activities. It will be a large undertaking that will show how active and diverse the student environment of the Silesian University of Technology is.
- We said goodbye to the outgoing Seld-Government, to whom I thank very much for the excellent cooperation. We are also starting the term of the new Self-Government, and I am convinced that this will also be a time of great cooperation – concluded the Rector.
