The ceremonial opening of the congress took place on March 28th in the Senate Hall of the Silesian University of Technology, with the participation of His Magnificence Rector, Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Marek Pawełczyk, Chairwoman of PDUT, M.Sc. Eng. Paulina Góra, Chairwoman of the University Self-Government Council of the Doctoral Students' of the Silesian University of Technology, M.Sc. Eng. Iga Przytuła and the Chairman of the National Representation of Doctoral Students, M.Sc. Eng. Rafał Ramut. During the ceremony, the university's offer for doctoral students was presented, as well as the activities of the EURECA-PRO consortium. The second day was also filled with expert panels with industry representatives and discussions devoted to current issues of the doctoral community.
The Agreement of Doctoral Students of Technical Universities, established in 2008 on the initiative of doctoral students of the Gdańsk University of Technology, currently brings together 24 doctoral student self-governments. Its mission is to support cooperation between doctoral students, universities and industry, and its regular meetings constitute a key platform for the exchange of experiences and the activation of the scientific community.
