The 10th Jubilee International Scientific and Technical Conference in Rybnik
From the 14th to 16th September 2026, Rybnik will host the 10th Jubilee International Scientific and Technical Conference: “Energy, Environment, Intelligent Use of Minerals: Management and Sustainable Development”.
The event is organized by the Association of Alumni of the Silesian University of Technology, Branch CKI Rybnik and the Directorate of the Silesian University of Technology Branch in Rybnik.
The conference will be an opportunity to meet representatives of the world of science, industry, energy, and mining and to exchange experiences on some of the most important challenges facing the economy and regions related to the mining and energy industry today.
The event will cover a wide range of topics related to energy, power engineering, mining and mineral exploitation, environmental protection, education, health protection and occupational health and safety. Special place will also be given to the use of the experience of underground mining and mining technology in civil engineering, including in the field of tunnelling.
This year’s jubilee edition of the conference will also cover for the first time the subject of defence and dual-use technologies, thus opening a space for discussion on the possibilities of using knowledge, technologies, and experience of industry in new areas.
The conference is connected with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the birth of the “Professor emeritus” – Professors Barbara Luks and Henryk Badura - who are “highly distinguished” for the Rybnik Branch of the Silesian University of Technology. This is a unique moment to proudly express our gratitude for their enormous contribution to the development of the centre and their presence in Rybnik’s academic life.
