SUT students will play in the finals of the Polish Tennis Championships

Nicole Borzęcka, Klaudia Rduch and Maria Małecka from our university will play in the finals of the Polish Academic Tennis Championships. This happened thanks to the fourth place in the women's semi-final tournament, which was played in Krakow on May 11-14.

Sixteen university teams from southern Poland took part in the Krakow semi-final. They were divided into four groups. The women's team of the Silesian University of Technology went to group A, in which they won in two matches and advanced to the quarter-finals from the first place.

- We beat universities from Lublin and Wrocław - says Nicole Borzęcka, the first "rocket" of this team. - The match started with doubles, followed by singles. The competition went on to two won matches.

In the quarter-finals, our girls, trained by Gloria Mokrzycka, turned out to be better than the Medical University of Lublin. In the semi-finals and the match for third place, however, there were already conquerors - losing successively to the Medical University in Wrocław and the Jagiellonian University.

The finals will be played on June 8-11 in Łódź. On May 28, our tennis players will play in the Silesian Championships in Katowice.

- In the final tournament of the Polish Championships, we simply want to show our best side - announces Nicole Borzęcka. - In the Silesian Championships, we defend the title of the best women's team from last year and our goal is to repeat this success.
