SUT delegation in South Korea

In the last week of October the delegation of the Silesian University of Technology, led by Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation - Professor Sebastian Werle, participated in “2024 International Exchange Seminar to Revitalize Global Capstone Design”, organized in South Korea by Sun Moon University.

The delegation visited five Korean universities, namely:

Sun Moon University,
Keimyung University,
Inha University,
Kookmin University,
Chungbuk National University.

At each of the universities, Head of the SUT International Relations Office, dr. Grzegorz Kłapyta, gave the presentation on the Silesian University of Technology and underlined various opportunities for collaboration.

The SUT team also included Nikodem Kuźnik, Professor of SUT,  Dr. Dariusz Buchczik and two students: Agnieszka Bolik and Irmina Lepiarczyk.

The main goal of the visit was to discuss organizational issues of the next Global Capstone Design Competition which will take place in the upcoming summer semester.

It has been agreed that SUT together with Sun Moon University will organize the Global Capstone Design Competition 2025 for their students and will include also other Korean, Slovak and Polish universities.

International teams of students will perform PBL projects in COIL format. Their common whole-semester work will be finalized with an onsite visit of foreign students in Gliwice in the last week of May 2025 to complete the projects and to select winners.
