"Sustainable Energy Engineering, MSc" - a modern study programme developed in partnership between the Silesian University of Technology and the Instituto Superior Téchnico in Lisbon
The Silesian University of Technology together with the Instituto Superior Téchnico in Lisbon have developed a new MSc study programme in Energy Transition. The studies were created within the Katamaran project to educate future leaders in energy transition.
The project is in line with the strategic objectives of the Silesian University of Technology, including internationalisation and attracting foreign students. Both Universities have jointly developed a two-year study programme which includes the international mobility of students. The programme was prepared under the regulations and procedures in force at the Silesian University of Technology and the Instituto Superior Téchnico in Lisbon. What is important, it was also developed based on broad consultations with the economic environment.
The curriculum of the “Sustainable Energy Engineering, MSc” will include subjects such as renewable energy, clean combustion, circular economy, new generation alternative fuels, “waste-to-energy” technologies, energy systems efficiency, energy storage or global energy policy.
The programme is tailored for the graduates of the first-cycle studies who wish to contribute to the global energy transition and a better future for the world. Graduates of the programme will become experts in implementing the energy transition.
In the first year of studies, classes will be held at the Silesian University of Technology, in the second year at the Instituto Superior Téchnico in Lisbon. All classes will be conducted in English, in international groups.
