Summer modelling workshops
The Aviation Modelling Centre of the Gliwice Aviation Modelers Association invites students, children and employees of the Silesian University of Technology to modelling workshops. Classes will be held at the Aviation Modelling Centre at the airport in Gliwice.
Modelling is a field of activity combining electronics and mechanics. Even a short episode of modelling allows you to significantly improve your knowledge in many areas of technology, and thus - better prepare for activities using modern technology.
- Children and teenagers who have had experience with modelling acquire knowledge of physics and mathematics much easier and faster. This is confirmed by instructors observing the progress of their students. Modelling is modern high-tech. Engineers constructing modern devices come from the modelling community. It is also a natural start for future pilots, says Jacek Pogonowski from the GSML Aviation Modelling Centre.
Modelling teaches accuracy, patience and creativity, shapes character and the ability to work in a team. It is hard to find any flaws in modelling.
During classes, students make aircraft models, learn how to use various tools, and fly models as part of training and competitions. They also learn the theory related to the flight of airplanes and drones and learn how to adjust models. The club has hand and electromechanical tools and machines, as well as modern machines and devices (including a 3D printer, CNC milling machine, CNC thermal plotter). It also has model flight simulators.
Modelling classes are free of charge and will be held at the Aviation Modelling Centre at the airport in Gliwice on two dates:
- 22-26/07/2024, 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- 26-30/08/2024, 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
We encourage children, teenagers and adults to participate in the classes.
