Student Science Club Data Science took first place in HackYeah2025, the largest stationary hackathon in Europe.
The Student Science Club of Data Science deals with artificial intelligence and its practical applications – from medicine to analysis of satellite images. Members of the Club take part in conferences, competitions, and hackathons, as well as organize workshops popularizing knowledge about modern technologies.
- Our goal is to combine theory with practice and to create solutions that have real application in science and industry - says Joanna Wiekera, president of the Club.
During HackYeah 2025, the Silesian University of Technology team won the 1st place in the Biohacking category. The team consisted of: Joanna Wiekiera, Patrycja Prusak, Julia Merta, Mikołaj Musioł and Jakub Jaromin.
- We created the Rest & Blink app, designed from students for students. Its aim is to support healthy habits while studying and working with the computer – explains Joanna Wiekera. - The app reminds you of regular eye breaks, monitors your posture, measures your heart rate, and thanks to the system of points and badges motivates users to take care of health in a digital environment.
Congratulations!
