Success of Silesian University of Technology students in cybersecurity competition
The Silesian University of Technology team composed of: Michalina Ziółkowska, Daniel Kosubek-Martyniak, Dawid Pągowski and Jakub Magiera took third place in the Capture the Flag (CTF) competition on cybersecurity organized by the Ministry of National Defence. The event took place on March the 3rd at the Conference Centre of the Ministry of National Defence in Warsaw.
The competition was a summary of the CYBER.MIL Academy project organized by the Ministry, which was attended by several Polish technical universities – including Silesian University of Technology.
As part of the project, students could take part in four trainings organized by the Expert Cybersecurity Training Centre and the Department of Cybersecurity of the Ministry of Defence and receive appropriate certificates of their completion.
- Our students were very interested to take part in the training” - informs Prof Paweł Kasprowski, coordinator of the project on behalf of the Silesian University of Technology. – Over 300 people signed up for it and it is worth emphasizing that they were students of several faculties.”
At the end of the program, each university put together a team of four, whose task was to solve a variety of cybersecurity tasks within six hours. In these competitions, the Silesian University of Technology team managed to take a place on the podium.
