Success of graduates of the Silesian University of Technology. They have written excellent diploma thesis!

Two graduates of the Silesian University of Technology took high places in the fourth edition of the nationwide competition for the best engineering, master’s and doctoral thesis defended in 2025 organized by TRUMPF Huettinger. 215 papers were submitted to the competition this year, including about 90 engineering and master’s theses and over 30 doctoral theses.

The first graduate of our university, M.Sc. Eng. Dawid Mańka received a distinction (place IV-VI) in the category of master’s theses, while the second one, Eng. Mikołaj Harazin received second place and prize of PLN 6 000 in the category of engineering works.

The thesis of M.Sc. Eng. Dawid Mańka entitled “Concept and design of a modular converter system cooperating with a photovoltaic farm with a capacity of 75 kW” was realized under the direction of Dr Hab. Eng. Marcin Siegmanowski, and Eng. Mikołaj Harazin carried out an engineering project entitled “Design of a multi-channel laboratory power supply” under the direction of Dr Hab. Eng. Mariusz Stępień, Prof. SUT. Both graduates completed their studies in electrical engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and completed their thesis in the Department of Power Electronics, Electric Drives and Robotics. Mr. Mikołaj Harazin is currently a part-time master’s student in the same field, and Mr. Dawid Mańka is planning to undertake doctoral studies at our university.

The awards obtained in the competition confirm the high quality of education conducted in the field of electrical engineering, which in this year's “Perspektywy” ranking of with a score of 99.2%, was placed in the second position in the country losing only 0.8 p. p. to the best rated university and received the highest percentage score among all classified fields of study conducted at our university.
