Success of a student of the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering

Marta Iwachów from the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering has won the Women’s Energy in Transition – Polish Edition competition. Our graduate won the second place for her master’s thesis and distinction for her engineering work.

Topics of the awarded works:

  • Research and construction of axial water picoturbine
  • Scenarios for the development of photovoltaic installations in Poland. Analysis of the use of PV with energy storage for a single-family building

During the award ceremony, the winner was supported by the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs and Education Dr Eng. Monika Blaszczok and Dr Eng. Arkadiusz Ryfa.

This is a great distinction and proof that innovative approach to energy and the involvement of young engineers have a real impact on the future of the sector.

The Women’s Energy in Transition – Polish Edition award is granted to students and graduates of energy-related fields for the best diploma theses devoted to issues of energy transformation. The aim of the program is to support women’s careers in the energy sector and to promote equality in STEM industries.

The program was launched in 2022 in cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology.
