Students prepared an exhibition. Invitation to the presentation
We cordially invite you to the presentation of the exhibition, which was created as part of the scientific and research project entitled: "Silesian opinion leaders, or the unofficial representation of Silesians" by a project team with the participation of students of the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology. The project was implemented as part of the "Science of the Young" grant program from the funds of the European City of Science Katowice 2024.
Next Tuesday, on May 20th, at 10 a.m. at the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology the opening of the exhibition entitled: “Silesian opinion leaders, or the unofficial representation of the Silesians.” will take place. The exhibition was created as part of received grant. The team implementing the project included students of the Faculty of Organization and Management.
The project consisted of conducting opinion surveys and then analysing the results and preparing the exhibition on the basis of the results.
In the first stage of the project, an opinion survey was commissioned on a sample of 500 inhabitants of the Silesian Voivodeship aged 18 years and over. The survey participants indicated opinion leaders on issues related to Silesia. In the further part of the project, based on the results of the research, students of universities belonging to the Academic Consortium Katowice – City of Science – University of Silesia, Silesian University of Technology and University of Economics prepared an exhibition entitled “Silesian opinion leaders, or unofficial representation of Silesians”, which presented the profiles of the eleven leaders most frequently indicated by respondents – among them Prof. Jerzy Buzek, film director Kazimierz Kutz and writer Szczepan Twardoch.
The exhibition had its premiere during the Silesian Science Festival. From the 20th to 30th of May 2025, it will be presented in the hall of the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology in Zabrze, where students involved in the implementation of the project are studying.
During the vernissage, scheduled for the 20th of May 2025 at 10.00 a.m., there will be a presentation of the results of research on opinion leaders on issues related to Silesia, which will be presented by the project leader – Katarzyna Siwczyk – PhD student at the Institute of Journalism and Media Communication at the University of Silesia, who is also associated with the Promotion and Communication Centre of the Silesian University and the Faculty of Organization and Management.
The presentation will be accompanied by a short debate on opinion leaders and authorities in today’s world with the participation of scientists from the Silesian University of Technology.
