Students from the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology from SKN Urbanmodel won the main prize of StRuNa-HUMAN 2025 for “GZM Metropolis Game”.
The StRuNa Competition is a nationwide plebiscite that distinguishes the best projects and initiatives of student science clubs This is one of the most important events in Poland for the academic community under the patronage of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
In this year’s 15th edition, the jury of experts, scientists and representatives of key institutions evaluated hundreds of entries from all over the country – that is why this award is a special distinction and a huge honour.
“The Metropolis Game” was appreciated for its social and educational dimension, showing that the functioning of the metropolis can be talked about in an accessible, engaging, and human way. The game was created with the residents in mind - it is about how we shape the city together, what decisions we make and what compromises create everyday life of GZM.
Under the supervision of Dr Hab. Eng. Arch. Tomasz Bradecki, Prof. SUT, the team of authors of the board game are: Błażej Mól, Paulina Siudyka, Amelia Gałas, Igor Gdula, Oskar Rosikoń, Marta Sanigórska, Justyna Nowak, Izabela Mularczyk, Magda Sikora, Karolina Dębczak, Magdalena Fijał, Michał Zając, Wiktoria Sobol and Wiktoria Wiendlocha.
The competition was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Its main organizer was the Student Aid Fund. The awards were presented by representatives of the Ministry and the most important institutions in the science and higher education sector. SKN Urbanmodel at the gala was represented by Paulina Siudyk and Oskar Rosikoń.
