Students of the Silesian University of Technology received scholarships from the Minister of Science and Higher Education

On April 21st, in the Senate Hall of the Silesian University of Technology, a meeting of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology with the winners of scholarships of the Minister of Science and Higher Education took place.

Twelve students of the Silesian University of Technology were distinguished and awarded scholarships of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for the academic year 2025/2026. The winners met with the rector authorities of the University and had the opportunity to boast of their successes.

The students received diplomas of obtaining a scholarship from the hands of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marek Pawełczyk and Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education, Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Anna Chrobok

- Congratulations on such great successes. Receiving a minister’s scholarship is an exceptional achievement, above standard. I know how much work you need to put in and what is the competition to get it, because I myself was a scholarship holder several times during my studies – said the Rector.

- We are proud to have students like you. I wish you continue to do so at the University and in life. We want to accompany you in this, for example, at the Doctoral School, and later also within the walls of our University. We have many examples of such career paths at the Silesian University of Technology – he added.

Prof. Anna Chrobok added that the Silesian University of Technology is at the forefront when it comes to the number of ministerial scholarships, of which she is proud.

- I invite you to further cooperation and to develop your scientific passions. With us you can make use of the new program, for which you can get additional ECTS credits, if you participate in the research work of various teams that operate at the university. Cooperation with young people in projects is also an amazing experience for us, for scientists already mature, because you have a new perspective on the problems that we need to solve – she said.

The winners can already boast of their participation and coordination of research projects and publications in high-scoring journals. Some also have a rich artistic heritage.

Eng. Sebastian Górecki is studying at the Faculty of Chemistry, in the last year of his second-cycle studies and already works in the team of Prof. Agnieszka Kudelko, where he deals with the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds.

- I have already obtained publications in scientific journals on this subject. I think I would like to continue my interest in the Doctoral School, and I hope that I will succeed – he admitted. Sisters Alicja and Agnieszka Polowczyk, students of computer science at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, have similar plans.

- We feel distinguished. We are glad that our contribution to scientific research has been appreciated because this work has not been easy. It was necessary to devote a lot of time, a lot of discipline and determination to write such publications, but we hope that it will help us in the future – they added.
