Students of the Silesian University of Technology awarded in the Women's Energy In Transition competition
Wiktoria Kapuścik, Joanna Biegańska, Katarzyna Kauch and Oliwia Baszczeńska from the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology were awarded in the Women's Energy In Transition - Polish Edition competition. The award is granted for the best diploma theses devoted to the energy transformation, written by students of energy-related majors.
The Women's Energy In Transition - Polish Edition competition applies to engineering, master's and doctoral theses defended in 2021-2022. It is organized by Dalkia Polska and the event is co-organized by the Silesian University of Technology.
The first place went to Wiktoria Kapuścik for her Master's thesis "Analysis of a selected fourth generation heating system". The second place was taken by Joanna Biegańska for the engineering thesis "Analysis of Biomass Storage for Pellet production" and the third place ex aequo was taken by: Katarzyna Kauch for her Master's thesis "Microbial fuel cells powered by selected types of biomass as a source of bioelectricity" and Oliwia Baszczeńska for her Master's thesis "Thermodynamic analysis of a modern gas-steam power plant co-burning green hydrogen".
The Women's Energy In Transition - Polish Edition competition was held for the first time. Its goal is to support female talents and increase the role of women in the energy industry, promote diversity and development of future expert staff.
