Students of the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School of the Silesian University of Technology in Rybnik are finalists of Talent Open
A team of students of the Academic Secondary Comprehensive School composed of: Mikołaj Mocek, Paweł Parma and Jakub Gebel reached the finals of the nationwide Talent Open competition organized by the High-Tech Foundation.
Students of ALO (Academic Secondary Comprehensive School) from Rybnik proposed their technological solution and were awarded in the Talent Open competition.
The proposal of the students was a service that allows to automate the determination of available traffic routes, primarily for people with mobility disabilities. A solution called iminti GO! uses advanced IT technologies and artificial intelligence tools to download and automatically analyse panoramic photos from the web.
The participation of students in the competition allowed them to develop their knowledge of school subjects and use it in their work on their own venture in the form of a start-up.
Dr Eng. Maciej Sajkowski, a teacher of computer science and programming at ALO in Rybnik was responsible for the substantive support of the project.

The unique elements of the educational puzzle available in the Rybnik ALO thanks to the support of the Silesian University of Technology in the form of the Mentorship Program “Expand Wings” helped the team in realizing the idea and obtaining in the Talent Open competition a chance for further development in the form of a mentoring package worth PLN 15 000,-.
The finalists of the competition had a unique opportunity to get to know and listen to the tips of experienced entrepreneurs, to delve into start-ups from public and private funds managed by investment funds. During the workshops, they could also learn how to create and sell innovative devices using modern technologies.
An important point of the agenda was the training in public speaking.
After the gala, the finalists were able to visit the European Solidarity Centre.
