Students from Yanshan University received their diplomas!
Another group of students from Yanshan University completed their education. The graduation ceremony took place on June the 3rd at the Silesian University of Technology. Students thanked for the opportunity to learn and gather experience in Poland.
At the Silesian University of Technology, the second year of education of students from Yanshan University in China was officially completed. Education in Gliwice is carried out within the framework of Yanshan University European Institute, which is one of the key undertakings developing scientific and didactic cooperation of our university with Chinese partners.
- The cooperation has been ongoing since 2022, when the first 50 students from China started their education at the Silesian University of Technology. Today, we have several year-groups of Chinese students, in several faculties, in total it is about 300 people - said Prof. Beata Orlińska, director of the College of Studies at the Silesian University of Technology.
Guoliang Yang - Executive Dean from Yanshan University added that for the Chinese student representation, coming to the Silesian University of Technology is an extraordinary opportunity.
- The curriculum in Poland, at the Silesian University of Technology is very good. The fields of study that are conducted here are also very popular and useful, which translates into the possibility of using this knowledge and education in later work – he said.
Students who came to our University studied in China for a year. They spend another three in Poland, and it is here, at the Silesian University of Technology, that they obtain a double diploma. For many young people from China, studying in Europe is a big dream. Because of the cost of such education, not everyone is given this opportunity. Those who came to the Silesian University of Technology do not hide their satisfaction.
- The teaching system in Poland and China is different. In China we studied in larger groups, here in Poland in smaller ones, which I liked very much, because we could ask questions that the lecturer could answer very quickly. I used it, I asked a lot of questions, and it was good for me, I was able to understand more from these classes, - said Bochen Chu.
The way of education at the Silesian University of Technology was also praised by another graduate - Zhenyao Yang.
- In China, we gather knowledge based on literature, we focus on lectures. During education in Poland, we focus on experience, on practice. This is the main point, and I think it is very necessary, it can be useful in my future work, - he said.
Students from China are educated at the Silesian University of Technology in several faculties: Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science, Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
The establishment and launch of the Yanshan University European Institute is the result of many years of cooperation between the Silesian University of Technology and Yanshan University, one of the leading technical universities in China. The partnership includes mainly dual study programs, student and staff exchanges, joint research projects, and initiatives to internationalize education.
