Students from the High Flyers Scientific Association as winners of the KoKoN competition

Students from the Silesian University of Technology, associated in the High Flyers Scientific Association, became winners of the Forum of Technical Universities KoKoN competition. The High Flyers team proved to be the best in the category of "Innovations and new technologies in ecology".

Our students presented their own drone system in support of precision agriculture and environmental protection. The system identifies areas occupied by plant disease pathogens, diagnoses diseases in fruit trees, and performs precise spraying of plant protection products.

The national KoKoN competition is addressed to students of technical universities who are active in scientific associations. The idea behind the competition is to develop scientific and social activity along with the integration of the student community, to promote scientific activity and to build dialogue between technical universities in Poland and external companies. This year, 21 projects from across Poland competed in five categories (Engineering Project, Scientific Research, Education, Digitalization, Innovations and New Technologies in Ecology and FUT Favourite).

Students from the Interdisciplinary Scientific Association of Unmanned Flying Objects High Flyers have had a very successful season. The developed system proved itself in practice by winning 2 x 1st place (in two competitions) in this year's Droniada competition. Our team won the first place in the general classification and received the Main Prize and two Special Prizes of Łukasiewicz Research Network.
