Students, apply to the STEM competition and solve a real industrial problem!
The second edition of the international competition "STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Innovation Contest" which is organized as part of the international EURECA-PRO project, has started. The challenge consists in students solving real problems posed by industrial partners.
The team from the Silesian University of Technology won the first edition of the competition. We wrote about it here.
The competition consists of two stages. The first stage is local and is resolved within the university (February-April 2023). Groups of 4 students (second-degree students or the last two years of first-degree studies, including at least 1 woman), supported by 1 or 2 mentors (university employees, one of the mentors must be at least a PhD, the participation of a female mentor will be additionally rewarded ), prepare a detailed concept and plan for an innovative solution to any problem (in Polish or English), selected by them from the list of problems (see attachment below).
One of the submitted projects will be selected for implementation. This group will implement its proposed solution from April to July 2023, with financial support of 1,500 euros.
The second stage of the competition will take place at one of the partner universities and consists in presenting this developed solution to the problem (in English) before the international jury of the competition. Mentors and students can register for the competition in two ways:

For potential members of international groups, an online "speed dating meeting" will be held in mid-December so that they can get to know each other and form teams.
