Statement from the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Marek Pawełczyk

In the light of the information appearing in the media and on the Internet about the planned presence of the SHEIN brand on the campus of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, we inform that the University received an offer to make the area available on its campus, but it did not accept it and did not conclude any agreement.

Krakow Square (Plac Krakowski), where the event of the mentioned brand is to take place, is not part of the campus and does not belong to the Silesian University of Technology. Information about the cooperation agreement between the University with SHEIN is therefore false. The University distances itself from SHEIN practices.

Silesian University of Technology adheres to the highest values, including those related to responsible consumption and production, as evidenced by our activities within the European University EURECA-PRO, which we co-create. We urge SHEIN and all parties to remove false information.
