Spring Concert of the Silesian University of Technology
The traditional Spring Concert of the Silesian University of Technology was held in Dom Muzyki i Tańca (transl. House of Music and Dance) in Zabrze. The authorities of the University, employees and invited guests were present at the event. This year Andrzej Piaseczny performed for them.
Spring concerts of the Silesian University of Technology are held to celebrate the anniversary of the University. ‘This concert expresses a big "thank you" to the entire Academic Community for their hard work and contribution to the development of the University, to building the prestige of the Silesian University of Technology brand, as well as for everything our employees do in these difficult times. It is also a form of saying "thank you" for your solidarity with Ukraine, for helping refugees and effectively fighting the pandemic, i.e. for all those activities which are not within the scope of your duties, but which have shown the great spirit of the employees of the Silesian University of Technology’ said Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk, rector of the University.
The President of Zabrze, Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik attended the concert. ‘77 years of the Silesian University of Technology in Silesia is not only a long history and a multitude of activities, but also a hope that the employees and scientists of the University will continue to support the development of our Silesian land, our Metropolis’ said the President of Zabrze.
Andrzej Piaseczny also joined in the wishes on the occasion of the jubilee. ‘Education in its broadest sense is the future of the nation. (...) I wish all the best to the Silesian University of Technology, I wish all the best to the students, lecturers and administration - be happy’ said the artist.
This year's Spring Concert of the Silesian University of Technology was held to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the University.
