Speech by Vice-Rector Prof. Janusz Kotowicz in the Senate of the Republic of Poland on hydrogen energy
On November 22nd this year, in the building of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, in the Chamber of Plenary Sessions, prof. Janusz Kotowicz gave a paper "Selected issues of the hydrogen economy and energy storage", which was also co-authored by prof. Tadeusz Chmielniak - full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The session was chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Gabriela Morawska-Stanecka, and the speech was held as part of the conference "Energy in Poland in 2050", organized by the Senate of the Republic of Poland, Chairman of the Extraordinary Committee on Climate, dr Stanisław Gawłowski and the Chairman of the Energy Problems Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, prof. Janusz Lewandowski.
The Deputy Marshal of the Senate expressed the hope that the representatives of the world of science gathered at the event will help answer the question of what to do to make the Polish energy economy independent of hard coal.
During the meeting, scenarios for the development of the national power system were also presented (Prof. Wojciech Suwala from AG-H (University of Science and Technology in Krakow), the sustainable National Power System with nuclear power plants (dr hab. Eng. Bolesław Zaporowski, Poznań University of Technology), conditions for the implementation of nuclear energy in the country (prof. Konrad Świrski, Warsaw University of Technology), district heating in Poland without fossil fuels (dr hab. Eng. Wojciech Bujalski, prof. Warsaw University of Technology). The issue of municipal waste as a component of the energy mix was also addressed" (Prof. Robert Sidełko, Koszalin University of Technology), and the potential of Renewable Energy Sources in the planned energy basis (prof. Waldemar Kuczyński, Koszalin University of Technology).
