Sound Week in the City of Science
The thirteenth of all 50 weeks in the City of Science is the Sound Week. The event takes place as part of the European City of Science celebrations, which will last throughout 2024.
Sound Week is a time of many interesting workshops, lectures for a wide audience. It is a proposal for all those who want to look at sound from many perspectives and look for its meaning in different areas of life. Together, we will delve into the world of science and research – we will learn how sound affects our psychophysical state and the functioning of our brain.
We will discuss its physical properties and look for an answer to the question whether sound can contribute to the development of social, communication and emotional spheres. We will become creators of sounds and creators of musical works created from the recorded sounds of the city, the finale of which will be a joint concert. We will consider whether the sound can stimulate us and whether it can relax us as part of the “sonic self-care” workshop. Sound will become a form of integration of various environments and minority groups. It will become an opportunity to combine it with image, movement, and number.
Selected events are as follows.
Record the Sounds of the metropolis.
Explore the sounds in the community
Sound and its ways
Explore the sounds in space
Does the sound relax me?
Experiment Day
